The Toast Test

The one-question personality quiz brought to you by AHAM

How standards color your morning bread

Have you thought about what your toast says about you? Or how your toaster knows how dark to make your toast?

We have both covered.

How do you like it?

A few more facts about the AHAM T-1 standard…

1

The T-1 standard was developed to emulate real-life toasting conditions. Toasters are tested using “fresh white sandwich bread” similar to the sliced white bread you would find on the grocery store shelves.

2

AHAM’s T-1 standard, the leading U.S. performance standard for toasters, is updated regularly to reflect new technology, toaster designs and innovation.

3

The color of toast is evaluated under T-1 using the same photos from the quiz, with 1 being extremely light (dried surface with a tinge of color) and 9 being extremely dark (uniform, extremely dark or charred surface).
